You have older light fixtures that over time have become dangerous to operate because the electrical components are falling apart, wires have frayed or cracked making them a fire hazard. Or you would like to see if they can be upgraded to be more efficient and offer more efficient, better lighting. The solution: convert to LED.
Yes, it is possible to convert to LED!
The number one hazard when it comes to lighting is the emission of heat. LEDs emit almost no forward heat while traditional fixtures like incandescents convert more than 90% of the total energy used to power them directly into heat.
That means only 10% of the energy powering incandescent lights is actually used for light (which also makes them extremely inefficient compared to LEDs). Additionally, because LEDs consume less power they can operate effectively on low-voltage electrical systems. These are generally much safer in the event that something goes wrong.
Another important lesson is the light ‘temperature’. This is measured in Kelvin, as you can see in the image. Have this in mind when you will convert!
Ah, remember that Lumiterra is the only ISO 17025 recognized lab in Canada, specialized in repairing, converting and upgrading LED light fixtures.
